As you approach the month ahead, what will you do to recharge and take care of yourself? There is a lot going on in the world, and when we feel overwhelmed or stressed, it can be easy to lose sight of our self-care goals related to exercise, nutrition, and mental resilience.

What is ONE thing that you can do this weekend to feel recharged?

Examples include reading a book, meditating, going for a walk outside, or cooking yourself a nutritious meal. Personally, I took a yoga class this morning which ended with a mindful breathing practice. The time I took to focus inward on my breath helped to bring my mind to the current moment instead of focusing on the future (Thoughts like – “When will I be able to see my family?”, “When will I go back to work?”, “What will the new normal be?”).  It also helped calm my nervous system and keep me grounded in the present moment.  I share this so that you know that you can do this to. All it takes is mindfulness and a commitment to your highest good.  A commitment to what will help you be the best version of yourself today.

Keeping this idea in mind, what is one thing you can do today to help you calm your nervous system and recharge your batteries? To get started, pick one self-care practice that you can do now to feel recharged and rejuvenated. It can be as simple as taking a deep breath in and finding a mindful pause. It can also be positive self-talk such as telling yourself you are enough, and what you accomplished today, is enough.
